Delhi Heights'21

I love travelling, I don't claim to know it all but yes I love to do my research before I decide on a destination and boy oh boy I hit the jackpot! Let's say I have a keen eye to spot that restaurant store, hotel or any such activity that can elevate the travel experience. This is my very first blog, my friends and family have persuaded me to start a blog, share the experiences but when you actually get down doing your lost. Today, what I am writing is coming straight from the heart, so apologizes if my language is not polished enough, I want my blog to sound like a conversation the one you have with your friend when you come back from a trip and then your dying to share all the minute details. So here is my first conversation to all my new blogger friends - like to call you that:) Travel was affected due to the pandemic and yes after the slowdown in numbers this year I decided we have to go somewhere sit in that bird and take off:) So we did not too travel far to be on the safe side we decided to visit the CAPITAL OF INDIA - Delhi!

I visited Delhi after fifteen years, the city has changed no doubt you enter and drive pass Gurgaon (as the airport is close) southwest of Delhi, its a feast to one's eyes. We stayed for 5 nights /6 days, I will make it easy to my friends not making this blog to preachy and getting straight to the point of what one should see or miss breaking down into the stay/eat/shop categories as that is what travel is all about:)

Stay: Has to be in one of the hotels in Connaught place, city center easy to travel from one point to another, many options of hotels. Delhi has Uber now so easy then depending on the rickshaws which can be expensive not very trustworthy especially for foreign tourists. This is an experience I would highly recommend the foreign tourists to do when they are in Delhi, even if its for one night you have to head to "Haveli Dharampura" its an old charm 200 yrs old haveli now converted into a beautiful theme stay - https://www.havelidharampura.com/ (do visit the website for more information)

Shop: Delhi is a treat for shopping in this trip I discovered some new places, Connaught place is usual nothing new same old brands same with the GK market , Lajpat Nagar Market very crowded now here is my pick one has to visit Delhi Haat INA (open air not the one which is in a building), Old Delhi or they as it is called "Delhi 6" markets in Paharganj, Silver lovers it is a treat to visit Dariba Kala (Sunday closed)  and art & antique lovers a must visit to Sundar Nagar small quaint market but amazing line up of antique goods. Here is the link for the markets you can visit the other markets mentioned but you know my picks:) - https://www.tripsavvy.com/top-markets-in-delhi-1539692. For the riche rich it has to be the Mehrauli has super line up of some famous Indian Fashion Designers head to this strip and you will love the feel of it also one will get to see the Qutub Minar the sight in the evening is beautiful as it is illuminated.

Eat: Oh! after all that shopping we need to keep our bellies happy:) Delhi offers the best in terms of food now one can have a fun cheap experience or a fine dinning experience we had both:) When in Delhi 6 a must visit to Karim's original from Jama Masjid, Daryaganj Connaught place (they have multiple outlets all over in Delhi & Gurgaon) for the fine dinning its has to be again heading to Mehrauli strip QLA, Rooh (what a view from the top of the illuminated Qutub Minar) for a club feel and if you want to dance head to "Diablo" super outdoor experience:) where ROOH restaurant is one will see a lot of other restaurants very nice one's (expensive) but good dinning experience and also shopping experience one will also be treated to some amazing designer stores. If in Gurgaon head to Ladera beautiful ambience and lip smacking food (lamb dish is amazing)

This is it I had the best time in Delhi and in winters it adds more flavor to the entire travel experience, I don't want to overburden this conversation with too much content so I have kept it short and sweet for one to read and explore.

Do share your comments on the blog as said earlier this my first time so your feedback will be helpful to help me curate my next blog better:)

Let me know if you need any more information on anything I have shared will be happy to help:) and if you have enjoyed this blog do share it with your friends and family on email or any social media handles.
